Churning Them Out

Top left, Pauline, 2-5 Jackie.

The hall was pretty crowded, so I set my easle up on the stage. Not only did I get a bird's eye view, but got to watch some of the punters in action. It was more entertaining than anything on telly. It was such a joy to see the amazing stuff being churned out. Here is some by Pauline and Jackie.

Jenny D, Gary, Sue and Beryl.

Theresa.

Who could resist Chris's fabulous tonal drawings? We are starting to see some more experimental stuff on the easle. Eruptions of colour and form, with strong academic skills that keep it all anchored. My favourite of the day was the top right, sort of a Cezanne influence.
Saturday was a huge treat for us, with our amazing model, Theresa. Tall, curvaceous, exotic, a dancer, actor and performer. Poses were dramatic, with a hearty dose of fun and humour. In her other life, Theresa does all sorts of wonderful things, from fire-twirling to costume-making. She has also collected all manner of garb from her travels abroad, particularly India. She has collected some gorgeous sequined gowns and jewellery, enough to make you drool.
Theresa is keen to bring us a costume drawing session, if enough of you are interested. Let me know. Her website is currently under construction, so stay tuned to learn more about her.
This week we are drawing Kevin. We have two models called Kevin, and they always seem to ring me in the same week, looking for a gig. Although I don't think they know each other. We have the other Kevin in two weeks. They are both well preserved, forty-something blokes, who like to run with it and have a bit of fun.
Our first Kevin is an actor. He always breathes deeply, centres himself and moves in a trance like state into his poses. Fun to watch, and great poses.
See you on Saturday at the hall.

Left-Hand Day.

When my work starts to feel a bit stale, I often throw myself a new challenge. A favourite of these is to use my left hand. It puts a different spin on it all.
